I've gone and done it, I GS'ed

I have been contemplating a smaller dual sport for years, even grabbed a CL77 (to small) to try. Today I "settled" on a 2002 F650 GS, 35k on the clock and a few mods. So, any of you Funduro guys out there that have some advice on maintenance (she needs fork seals), or upgrades, or even just a good story with pictures, jump in. Source material would be helpful too. I'll edit in some pictures when I get her settled.

I’ve seen too many people using oil cap with a thermometer gauge built in to watch oil temp. Guess that’s a thing to monitor for f650gs.

Chain, that mess is a shade tree mechanic without wire cutters, there was another 4-5 feet rolled up in a few places.

Keep a good eye on the fork lowers, where the axle 'attaches', for cracks.

Grats on the new ride. You'll get that rats nest cleaned up in no time, and be able to go anywhere with that thing, Those Jesse's are built like a tank.

Congrats on the new bike! Just so happens that I bought a 2020 GS Adventure this week to add to the stable. Very different ride.
