My wife and I have just completed the Lake Superior Circle Tour on our ST1300. We started at home in ND and made the trip in six days and 1986 miles. Great roads and sites to see. We can recommend the trip to anyone with the time and inclination. Trip covered parts of four states and one Canadian Province. Many motorcycles were seen making the trip this year. And, FYI, the ST drew a much larger crowd than any of the noise makers (HD's)!!

I have some pictures and will post a few here. PS

Lodging?

Having made the trip myself, two years ago, I was wondering:

Did you camp or hotel it on the Canada side?

We had some trouble finding places to stay up there, and ended up making the Canada side of Superior in a single day.

Did you have trouble with places being full or a lack of motels?

Well, I'm not sure how to say this nicely, but it seemed more like a lack of civilization. Most of the towns were two building affairs. Very few places to eat or sleep.

It's not that stuff was full, it's that there didn't seem to be enough places to fill in the first place.:
