Bought new Michelin Road 6 back in May of this year. Love the tires, but our road lives them more. Had to put 3 plugs in it to stop the leak. Seems to be holding but never drove it yet. Tomorrow morning will be the maiden voyage...

If it were mine, with three plugs, I'd be putting a patch on the inside. On my Honda CRV, I just got some new tires and not long after, got a nail in one. I plugged it at home, but called the dealrship about what else I should do. I did have hazard warranty on the tires. When I took it in, they said that all they do is plug it anyway. I wasn't satisfied with that answer, so I took it to an independent place and they put a patch on the inside, didn't even charge me. I couldn't see going another 20-30K miles or more on a plug. BTW, the tires came nitrogen-filled. I was told no problem with just air in the tire for the time being.

Plugs are a temporary remedy. Have it properly patched from inside.

I’d never drive plugged tire more than to get to a workshop. I probably wouldn’t even expect that much from 3 plugs

A friend managed to lose a plug (rear tire). Doing 130kmh. He got lucky to stay on 2 wheels and stop. The rest of the trip (after re-plug) was 70-80kmh without issues.

I too consider a plug a temporary fix. expensive but you don't have much choice (unless your darksiding).. I have also head a tire go flat at low speed and it took a pry bar to get the seat out from between my cheeks

Yeah properly done I don't see a plug as temporary and they haven't been so in my experience. When I first got my ST I picked up a nail at maybe 1500mi on the stock tire. Plugged it and it held air perfectly. Out of an abundance of misguided caution I replaced it which wasn't a great move. The shop (miles from home) didn't have the right tire but put a lighter range tire on it and off we went. Now I'd plug it and ride it till the next change – no worries just an occasional glance at the TPMS.

Wow! I personally wouldn't feel very comfortable riding around quite fast with a patch like that.
From the inside would be my minimum repair attempt.
How's the bike working since your last sensor change? Didn't see an update....
Take Care

A plug patch is the best way to go. I had to do that to a number of tires! And I still got 10K miles out of them! :)

No problem at all.

That "air" you had to use is 78% nitrogen anyway. Unless the dealers put your CRV tires in a vacuum state you got "air" inside already with some expensive extra sale nitrogen added!

My point exactly. Nitrogen-filled is SOP at the dealership
