My other bike is a 03 ST 1300 with 21k. Today on the 03 the FI light came on at 4000 rpm.The bike ran great but the light never went out, until I turned the key off. 3 days a week I ride from the New Orleans area to the Mississippi gulf coast. Any idea why this light is on? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks, Brad

Most likely a fault code 25 or 26, defect in the knock sensor system. If that is what it is, the problem is most likely that the ECM is defective. Standard diagnostic procedures and inspections need to be accomplished to eliminate defective wiring, poor connections, corrosion, failed knock sensors, etc.. If it is the ECM, there is no current repair available, it needs to be replaced.

Check to see what fault code/s illuminated the FI light to determine what system is having an issue.

See below for a list of fault codes and how to check and clear the fault codes.

Sure sounds like the ECU issue known to the pre-2007 or pre-2008 models.
Lots of info on here, and several broken hearts and dented wallets.
Hope it's not what the Shadow knows...
