Thanks. It still works. I dont have a mount, will it work in the map case of a tank bag, or does it have to point through the windshield?

It needs a clear shot as far as metal goes. It's not a clear shot unless the tank bag lifts it above the gauges. There is a lot of metal wiring, connectors and circuit boards in the instrument cluster.
