Need a recommendation for my 2000 ST1100. After looking at "Radar Roy's" website, I'm leaning to the Bel RX65. I would also like to get any suggestions for a simple, inexpensive mount.
Thanks, Jack.
Thanks, Jack.
I run my V1 through the Autocom and into the helmet speakers or earphones if I'm wearing them. When I first got the bike, I had the V1 mounted in the center (like the pics show) and had to depend on the volume and the warning lights. At city speeds, the sound was fine, but at highway speeds I tended to notice the lights more than the sound. You may want to make the availability of external alerts (sound or light) a criteria in your detector purchase decision.Thanks. The example Les sent mounted on the resoivor side is probably what I want. I forgot to mention I already have a Zumo 550 mounted in the middle of the handle bars using the Garmin supplied mount.
Which detector is the loudest alert, as I don't want to mess with earplugs etc?
Jack.
Jack, I also use the visual alert from Marc Parnes. The only drawback of this is you need to look at the radar unit to see what type of alert the LEDs are sending. Otherwise it is a good addition. Unless you use earplugs/headset you will not hear alerts, except maybe sloooow speed around town.I used this for visual alert with my Escort... don't know if your Bel is a Pro/Vector series though... Very bright during the day... turn it down at night :
