Hello -

I have a Garmin StreetPilot 2730 that plays XM radio and it is great. All I did was route an extension cable around so it comes up at the front of my seat and I hook in directly.

I also have an Excort 8500x50 radar detector, but I would like to route the audio warnings through my earphones while the XM is playing.

QUESTION:
Is there a way to couple/link in the Radar Detector audio to my headphones while I'm listening to XM?

:please1:
I tried a simple Y-connector and all it did was add a bunch of static.

Does anyone know a way to make this work?

As always, your thoughts are solicited and appreciated.

Regards,

-Geo

FWIW, I have exchanged email with the owner/developer of the AmpliRider, and will be ordering one to try.

Gary has been very responsive and most cordial in his communication! He is also offering an isolation cable at his cost of $10. Seems like a very nice guy, and if you go to his website, he's an electrical engineer who developed this initially just for himself.

I'll report back after I set this up.
