$4,000 for a 1991. I KNEW these classic early models would start to appreciate in value!! This one sure looks clean.

Super nice. But I worry about a 28 year old bike that's only been ridden an average of 340 miles a year. That can't be good for seals and gaskets.

What a beauty. Wouldn't mind owning that little gem.
Not for 4K.

That looks a very nice early, ney, very early ST.
Number 10, whoever buys it will have a dilemma, whether to ride it or wrap it in cotton wool for 50 years. That's the problem with near perfect things (I don't have that problem) you want to keep them that way. When I bought the 11 about 5 years ago I was glad of its little imperfections in some ways, it means it's less precious and useable. The price would be about right over here where I could see it priced between £3 to £4000.00.
I will probably have a similar dilemma soon, my neighbour has one of the last 11's in red, ABS/TCS and the last I heard it had about 15k on it and I've got first dabs. I hope he'll be asking too much it'll be easier to say no that way.
Don't you think those stripes would have been better in red.

I bought a 1991 ST1100 in Silver this past June for $3000.00.It only had 9500 miles. I had it shipped from NY and have been using it since August as a daily driver with no significant issues. I just change the oil since I got it. In the next several I plan on doing a complete inspection and maintenance on it.

First year bikes are the models most likely to become collectors items. I never suspected plastic parts would last this long, much less become classics.
Guess this is leftover experience from late 1970's GM plasticwork. UV simply loved them.

The trend is not good for 'classical' bike values. Two years ago that low mile 1100 was asking $4K, this June Silver's went for $3K, and typically it takes well more than 20 years for a bike to bring more than its original price. Note, I'm only talking about ST's in my first sentence. And every mile with smiles that Silver puts on his bike decreases its value.
