Remove preload spacer on forks

Hi,
Question............ Can you remove the spring and preload spacer without removing the fork tubes from the bike?? ST 1300 BTW... I want to re adjust the preload spacer and I was curious if you can just remove the fork tube cap and take out the spring and spacer with out removing the fork tubes from the tripple trees...

Yes, you can do this after your remove the handlebars. Otherwise you can't unscrew the fork cap completely and remove it.
