I was notified by Derek's wife Linda that he passed last month, below are the details. RIP bud and keep on riding.

"He was loved by so many and had so much to contribute to so many topics and I know he will be missed. I am sorry to have put this out there like this but I had so many birthday wishes. He died doing what he loved, being on a bike. He had bought a 2002 Bonneville America for our recent trip and was on his way to see a friend to get his 2003 Speedmaster completed with a big bore kit when he "failed to yield" and was hit by a car."

RIP Derek.

Man on motorcycle fails to yield, is killed

Arizona Daily Star
Tucson, Arizona | Published: 07.31.2009

A 50-year-old man was killed Thursday on the south side when he was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle, authorities said.

Derek Mosher was southbound on South Palo Verde Road when he tried to make a left turn onto South Broadmont Drive, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a Pima County sheriff's spokeswoman.

Mosher collided with a northbound car when he tried to turn, Barkman said.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, she said.
According to investigators, Mosher failed to yield to the car.
He was not wearing a helmet, Barkman said.
