i'm going to replace the final drive gear oil, the manual stipulates SAE80 but doesnt mention synthetic of mineral, so i have been looking at this, will it be ok, or can someone recommend something else

Rated hypoid is top tier.I changed mine every engine oil change interval.What the heck it is only a few ounces.
Looks good to me!! Go for it. Once a year is plenty good.

The labeling of weight SAE 80 meets Honda recommendations. And specification GL-5 is currently the highest specification.

Your good to go, you can mix and match SAE 80 brands.
Even my Lucas 75W- 140 bottle stated you can mix synthetic SAE 80 with mineral SAE 80 oil.
SAE 80W-90 is what I put in 2 days ago.
It was in my New 2nd ST for me in the stable, bought it 1 year ago.
Kicking myself in the pants as it was horribly dark coming out.
Should have did it right away in May 2022.
All good, as there was no metal slivers in the oil on this first oil change.
My 1st ST 1300 had metal slivers for the first few oil changes.

John, I'm only guessing but there was probably no synthetic gear lube when Honda wrote that manual. In my own experience just follow the guidelines in the manual for changes.
Don't over tighten the drain or fill!

Very Important: Loosen the Fill Plug 1st - then remove the lower Drain Plug

To add: The fill caps are the exact same part as SOHC CB750 valve tappet covers. The hex head is hollow, not solid, so if they're stuck, don't grab the hex with your biggest channellock pliers.
Instead, open them up and carefully grip the outer edge of the cap. Concentrate on gripping the cap harder than you turn the pliers. Always turn any pliers or wrench toward the lower jaw.
