SL 70

Sold on Bring a Trailer for $16,800. We used to rent these in Red River NM and ride all over the Jeep trails. Indestructable. And now selling for more than Harleys. Amazing.

I'd bet the ones you rode in NM did not look like that one. BaT tends to offer the cream of the crop...you don't find many run of the mill cars or bikes that have been beat up.

As a Z50 Minitrail Rider that I got in 1968 a good friend's father bought him an identical SL70. When his mother found out she became furious and he was not allowed to ride it, so it just sat in the garage for years. I remember going over to his house and seeing the bike sitting there and drooled over it. Seeing this picture too me back some 52 years when I was a scant 12 years old.

A candy apple red SL 70 was my first new motorcycle. Purchased with $$ earned from a paper route. I was 11 or 12. I think it cost somewhere around $400 out the door if I remember correctly.

It was restored, bored with oversize piston, everything gone through from front to back, factory paint, yada yada.
