today, in ontario, i went as the "backrack" with a friend for a ride. it was a very casual ride. slow and easy as we are still dealing with some weather issues. we could not have shone any brighter in our neon yellow helmuts and gear. however, a mini-van, simply did not see us, and side swiped us. we tried twice to get out of the way but could not. we are ok. the bike took most of the hit. but it seems to me......that we are just unseen on bikes......sometimes.....no matter what we wear..........

my friend has been riding for over twenty years.....but said it is always the worst in the spring....when drivers are just not used to seeing bikes.

hope we are all mindful of this. it makes sense that drivers are not used to the bikes this early in the year. i guess. and sometimes never are.

take care out there.

Wow that could have been a lot worse. Glad you're posting.
They don't see you because they don't look.
Here it's riding season all year, they still don't.

1st snow of the year or even rain if it hasn't in a while they always get extra stupid.
