Last week I finally got around to doing the 40 amp upgrade. I was able to find two alternators a few weeks ago, one for my '92 and one for my brother's 93 ST-A. I wasn't able to do the work myself due to time and space limitations but the result turned out great. The mechanic told me, however, that my stator was burned, so it was long overdue. It holds 14.1 volts at all RPMs. I sleep better now.
The issue I have is that the second alternator intended for the ?93 did not come with the back plate or gears. I mistakenly thought that the 28 amp parts would transfer over. So, I looked through the forum and found the following list of parts that look like the ?back end? of the alternator. My problem is that I am not sure of the part names or that the list is a complete one for what I need. Attached is a picture of the alternator as I now have it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
