I am having a heck of a time trying to get a radar detector to work with my Starcom1 Advance. I first tried a Escort Solo with a 3.5mm stereo cable and no sound from radar at all. I next tried a mono to stereo plug adapter and got radar sound (faintly) but the Starcom won't mute music during alerts. So I took back the Escort and got a Cobra XRS 9530 and hooked it up to the Starcom with a 2.5mm to 3.5mm stereo audio cable and I got radar sound, but it won't mute the music. I am going CRAZY! :(

I sent a message to Starcom and waiting for answer. I know that they sell a radar audio cable but it is $45!!!

Hmmmm... this is interesting Fred. I am have a similar (lack of amplified sound) issue with my phone going bluetooth to my Zumo.

The sound is extremely faint.... (and the person on the other end of the call seems to not be able to hear me)....

I think the music mutes... but the music is being controlled from the Zumo, but the sound is still faint...almost like it's not amplified...

After trying and trying different plugs and cables I broke down and bought the Starcom GPS/Radar audio cable ($50!!!) and now it works great! The only drawback, besides cost, is that the darn thing is like a mile long!
