Does anyone know what material is used to make Tailbrites? @CYYJ posted he used 3M Scotchlite Reflective Graphic Film, Series 680 but I'm not sure if this is the same material.

Where does one get this stuff? 3M shows it is available in various widths with a minimum roll length of 50 meters. I want to cover the sides and back of my VStrom's panniers, so I'll need maybe 5' of 1'wide tape in black. Amazon shows other 3M films with various 'series' that do not match Michael's 680.

3M Prismatic High Intensity Tape (HIP) tape is most often used for DOT highway signage. It throws reflected light in multiple directions to assist at close range and long distance. This tape is very rigid and tough and performs best on flat surfaces or surfaces with only one curve.

@RichKat works in a sign shop. He has written about reflective material before. He most likely can advise you on what to use and where to get it.

just punch in reflective tape in amazon and for under $10 you can get silver, red or green . There are roles, sheets and strips. might have to search a bit for 3m but it's all the same stuff. I beleive 680 is designed to use with a plotter.
