I put a Dunlop Roadmaster III on my ST, about a year ago, and 12000 miles ago, probably 4000 of that 2 up. Looking today and realizing that sucker is bald!
Is that normal millage from them? Really think this time, I'll go over to the Darkside, thinking of getting a BF Goodrich Comp 2. Anyone running these tires? Is there anything I should be worried about, with one?

I just changed both tires on mine, Both were Bridgestones, The rear lasted about 6,000 miles to the cords. The front lasted about 12,500 miles. I think these are typical miles, some worse, some better.

I think if you want more than 10K or 12K you need to go darkside, unless you ride like an old man. I’m thinking of trying it.

Yea, we've averaged 10-12k on ST tires, 75% of it two up. Have never run darkside (and wouldn't).

I thought we had a dedicated "darkside" sub-forum, but checked in Technical -> Tires Wheels, and didn't see one (might be thinking of a Gold Wing forum).

I have only ever got 5000 miles on the ST1300. 2 Up and nearly always fully loaded though. And with rough twisty roads, its a lot of wear with the always accelerating and braking. I reckon 5000 miles is much more fun than 12000 miles. And don't anyone try to convince me otherwise 'cos I might think I am getting a raw deal from my tyres.

With Michelin Pilot Roads 3,4 and 5, I changed the old/aged 3s at ~10,000 km (~6,000 miles), the 4s at ~15,000 km (8/9,000 miles), and the 5s at ~15,000 km. The ST is now running on Pirelli AngelGT/GT2 at about 4,000 km and going very nicely in all respects.

I did leave the 4s and 5s too long and won't make that mistake again. I will change the Pirellis I would say at 9,000 km (6,000 ml) while they still show 'good tread'. I think of those two patches we roll on, the size of my iphone, that's all we have.

I think that’s the most miles I’ve heard of from t32’s. May try them. Need new tires. 18k klm on Pr4gt.

Mine 5000-ers are T32s as well. Another member of the clubs says he gets about 5,000 too. It must be to do with the roads that we ride and the way that we ride them.

Funny ain't it fella, it's gotta be the road surface, I know they may have different temp tyres but only because of the riding climate. There's a thought do they still put temp ratings on tyres?
My current vstrom is on original tyres approaching 6000 miles but they're nearly ready. Can't belive that the previous owners only did just over 4000 miles in 5 years.
It'll be A41's for this one, they're on the shelf.

Michelin GT 6 here, rear 10k will definitely go another 2k. About 7k was fully loaded on interstates. Front is the 6 with zero signs of wear after 5k. I had the 5GT set last year and loved them on the twistys and work great in the rain.

We do. Click on Technical > Tires Wheels > Darksiders. You stopped too soon.
