I currently have a 2000 Valk Standard and use Avon tires. I seem to get about 15k out of these tires. What type mileage should I expect out of the same tires on the ST1300? Any other brands get higher mileage? Thanks.

The Avon Storm is what the ST takes and I think your Valk takes Venom Rs. That's what the Gold Wing takes. The Storms are a softer compound tire and I got between 10K and 13K on several sets of Storms. The Venom Rs last at least 15K on the rear of the Wing, and I have never worn a front one out before replacing it. I have had over 22K on a front Venom.

You don't mention the size and construction but given the fitment I am sure they won't fit an ST. I run Avon Storms on my ST1300 and get about 10-11,000 miles on a front AV55 and about 6 or 7,000 miles out of a rear AV56. There are other brand tires that deliver higher mileage but they don't handle as well on wet pavement. Mileage is highly variable rider to rider and your mileage may vary.

I also run the the Storms and don't get over 7,000 from a rear.Thats at 42 psi and a 150lb rider.Am on my third set of them.No interstate riding and our roads are a rough aggregate.

Just went through my first set of storms on my ST1300, I have about 9k on the rear and it's flat spotted (squared off) pretty bad, the front looks great, probably could get another 4K on it, but since their not too expensive, I'll replace them in pairs, I already have the new set waiting to go on.

I was disappointing in the wear though, it was squared off pretty good at about 7.5K , but they handle great, I'll trade some mileage for the grip and feel they give, were running them on my kids Blackbird as well, I love them!!

I got 8,000 on my Storm rear. It was not to the cords yet, but REALLY close. Put a set of Pilot Road II's on. I have 800 miles on the new tires and they seem to be as good in the handling department as any tire so far I have used.

My last front got 20K and my last rear got 11K. Sure can't complain about that!

Avon Storm ST rear went 10,000 miles, the front wasn't changed until a little later and still looks good at more than 10,000 miles. Rear is now Dunlop RoadSmart, and I like it.

I don't remember now where I read/heard this, but isn't Avon the only tire manufacturer that has a road hazard warranty on their M/C tyres, er, tires?

Avon Storm's. About 20k on the front and 10-12k on the rear; 250lb rider and a wide variety of roads. +1 on the flat spotting of the tire. GREAT wet weather handling.
