I took the core out of one of the brass harbor freight air chucks.
I put it on the air hose, add air until the tire pops twice and pull that chuck off the air line.

On this one you can see the little ring that holds in the piece that actuates the valve's spring.
It is *very* easy to pull...
I tryed reinserting it and have not been able to get the chuck to work right so make sure you have one you can dedicate to this...
(and if you put it back in and it works *every time* I will hate you! JK! But, you will have to tell me the *trick*! :))

I wonder if different mfgrs make them slightly different? A co-worker says his will inflate core or core-less with no problems. Chucks I used years ago would as well. Just seems like the ones I've gotten lately would not, or at least not easily.
