When will you folk realise that as much as we moan about them in the UK the good old roundabout is a safer junction than a crossroad.

Where I live, Americans don't know what to do with roundabouts. They get skittish and jam on the brakes. They cannot fathom smooth close quarters merging, or straight merging on a freeway on ramp for that matter.
