The line between scooters and motorcycles is getting blurred. Scooters are getting bigger wheels, less of a step-through frame and more motor. Motorcycles (see Honda 700 and VFR1200) are getting more storage and auto-shifting. This can only be a good thing for all 2-wheel types.

My wife and I were in Paris a couple of years ago and it was really cool seeing all the bike-scooter hybrids that are available. There were scores of bike on almost every corner and I just loved to check out all of the models that i had never seen. There were a couple BMW scooter-hybrids that had a full canopy overhead.

Once I was out by myself and almost got lost. I was able to find my way back to our hotel by navigating by the groups bikes I had seen.

I'd be more concerned about the cost of ownership on any electric vehicle than where it is built.

I read an article about a Phoenix owner of the Honda Leaf who was getting over 70 miles per charge and now gets 44.
He was able to drive to work and back and now he can't.
