Bike feeling a little twitchy now Mike? That's how I best described it going back... just wants to turn.

So there is a difference in tires car vs MC?

Sure there is. Just not enough to make most users ignore the longevity you get with them. I threw on my worn E3 and enjoyed how it felt on the wing. I may just strap an MC tire on the trailer and swap once I get to the good roads.

No not a gripe an honest question most darksiders say there is no difference he said he noticed the difference that the dark side tire made the bike feel heavy. I don't care what tire yourun just getting feedback on the true feel of a particular tire.

I just went back to the Light Side after being on the Dark Side for some time now. I just installed a set of Bridgestone T30 GT's on my 07 ST1300 and they make it feel like a different bike
Like a motorcycle should feel? I rode a Wing and a ST with Darkside tires on them. There is no way I would ever do it to my bike!

I used to have Metzler Z6s & I changed to the T30 (non-GT spec, for my humble ST1100) about 600 miles ago - Very different feel indeed. The T30s just want to "fall" into a turn, it can be slightly un-nerving the first few times, but then its an absolute joy :D :D

The T30s are definitely sportier than the Z6s, and also the rain groves on the rear tire is way better on the T30 than the Z6 - that's my humble observation.

Vishnu

I'm sure Mellow will end this if it becomes a debate or redundant as we have gone over it in it's own forum section.
Like I said, it is different, but when you are talking the difference between buying one tire as opposed to many in a season, many of us are willing to accept, and adapt to the feel and characteristics of a CT.
I really don't think it as any more pronounced of difference that it can be when you change from a worn tire to a new one. Different yes, but not a deal breaker. Many guys can really tear up the road on a CT, and that is due to their ability as riders not their ability to ride with a tire that is "wrong" for some.
Ride what you like.

I just turned 5000 miles on my T30 GT's. Love the ride and the handling. Riding styles vary but I've found them to corner very well in the wet and the dry. Judging from the minimal wear I'm seeing, I will get a minimum of another 5k out of the rear if not more, the front much longer. YMMV, I primarily commute surfacestreet/slab, with a modest twisty weekend ride or two if I can find one.

So there is a difference in tires car vs MC?

Yes indeed-y. In absolute terms decreased handling is traded for increased tire mileage. A car tire is not built to perform in the manner of a motorcycle tire.

Proponents are willing and able to accept the differences and probably most riders find the limitations acceptable within their application parameters. So a really good rider might be able to push both to their handling performance limits but I'd say a motorcycle tire will perform better not having the limits of a car tire on a motorcycle. That's at the cost of tread life though. The trade-offs are acceptable for some but not everybody.

I've never ridden a bike with a car tire so I can't speak with certainty on some aspects. Riders may learn to ignore the feeling of being on a car tire. I believe that a good rider will alway know they're on a car tire except maybe when on a nice smooth slab of concrete.

Like many mods it's about changing something to a personal preference and adapting to any required changes.

Well I will say the T-30 front tire is great but I shredded the rear tire in no time, this T-30 tire is no different than the 023 tires.

I tried a t30 rear and now 2 months later I am spooning on a pr4. I might be heading back to the dark side after this if I burn it off in 2 months too. The good news is, I'm getting better at changing tires.

Those rebates are awesome. I got one when I received the tires and a month later got a second one. Someone at Bridgestone screwed up or maybe their computers did. Was OK with me!
