Just thought I'd make a report for those searching for windscreens ... I was (for the most part) pretty happy with my stock screen + retrofitted laminar_lip.. though lately the buffeting between 70 - 80mph (the sweet spot) was beginning to get to me. Fast forward after taking advantage of their labor day sale, I just installed a Clearview brand, lightly tinted, medium height, 3" wider with adjustable-vent and I like it even better. The screen, for starters is clearer to look through with out the distortion of the laminar lip at the very top. The air-flow, though not entirely perfect is substantially better, smoother and not as turbulent as with the "lip" and certainly an improvement over the stock screen altogether. (I'm 6'0" tall with a 35" inseam.) the tint looks nice and is barely noticeable. Shipping took about a week & half-2 weeks from order. the screen comes stamped with their logo and the DOT 455 nomenclature.

Pics?

Thanks...it's very visible. Will definitely consider this when I need a new wind blocker.

The problem with windscreens photos is they are hard to see - I think the one detail that reduces turbulence is the small "curve" at the top of the screen. Clear view calls it their "recurve". Shown in one of the lose-up pics,. My '04 R1150RT had a cee-bailey screen with this detail and it was one of the best screens I ever had...

I'm glad you like your new windshield, however I could never use a shield with a vent in the middle restricting my vision of the upcoming pothole/rock/critter. Obviously that's not the case for you.

I usually ride with the screen all the way down or just slightly up, and only put it all the way up during rain or pummeling headwinds. The vent, when in the (all the way down) down position, does not obscure (at least for me) and is a nice distraction as I experiment with air-flow on hotter days.
The screen is quite clear, though I'm not a fan of looking through screens and prefer a clear line of site over the top. of the screen.

Thank you for the information. Can you articulate your "labor day pricing" cost?
They (Clearview) was offering a 15% (labor day sale) discount. w/ all the options selected; 3" wider, medium height, movable vent, grey tint w/ shipping came to $227.

+1 to looking over the screen. I always look over the top, even during rain. I'm already looking through glasses (and a helmet shield if it's raining) so I don't need another piece of grubby plastic in the way. :) FYI, I installed a National Cycle VStream screen this spring and its big drawback for me is that it is taller than the stock screen and I'm looking through it at more of the road surface, even at its lowest setting.

I installed the same Clearview over the winter. Just had a few short rides but it works better. I was trying to reduce the wind noise and it did go down some. Still some noise. Its really only a problem if I am trying to listen to xm radio with ear buds while riding. Have to turn volume all the way up to hear., not good on the ears!
But windshield does help! If i put it all the way up, it gets really quiet but like others, I really don't like looking through it unless its raining.

Could you possibly post a photo with a view from the rider’s perspective? Like most people I seldom look through my windscreen, but I do wonder if the vent poses a distraction?

I'm 6' with a 34 inseam - vent is NOT an optical issue - it's far below my line of forward vision.

Have you ridden with a passenger yet? Would appreciate some feedback with a passenger

I have the same screen on my bike with the GW vent. The screen is down most of the time and this is my Fall/Winter/Spring shield. It is still on the bike because I just haven't gotten around to pulling it. Even with the vent open, I like more airflow so I go back to a modified stock with Laminar Lip for summer months.

A lot of comments about the vent. I don't see it at all. However, I also have a dash shelf with 2 GPS and a phone blocking my vision where the vent would be in any position that I normally run the screen. I am also 6'4" so see over the screen pretty much all the time. Besides if you are concerned about it blocking your vision of some obstacle (rock, pot hole or debris) buy the time it is in the point where it would have been blocked by the vent you are already going to hit it if you haven't started to react to it well before it would have been blocked from your view. If you couldn't see it when it was further away (before being blocked by a vent) then you are following the car/truck in front of you too close or if there is no vehicle, it is too small to be an issue or you should invest in optical aids (glasses).

Can't help with the questions about 2 up. I ride solo. I don't even have rear pegs.
