I just checked again and it's the same it's been for me on a desktop for years. New Posts gives me all the threads I haven't read or new posts within those threads. Show Only Unread is selected. Clicking New Posts after that again shows only those threads I haven't read etc. Subsequent clicking gives me fewer and fewer threads until I get the New Posts page with no unread posts. it suggests I can click the view all latest posts link.

Clicking What's New gives me all those threads I've all ready read even though there are no new posts since the last time I read them all. The links aren't bold as in the New Posts pages but are faded indicating that I've already read those links and there've been no new posts added. This appears to be the same listing as the view all latests posts link but the latter doesn't have the list of events.

New Posts has never shown the list of events that appears in What's New in the years I've used it as my bookmark. I don't know how the mobile version works as I never use it. I have no reason to use What's New as my bookmark gives me every thing I want for the day-to-day.

The Like emojis are a little weird. I've noticed a similar thing on another site.

It is now, yes. Early yesterday it was as I described. Joe has been busy putting things back.

Here's what I saw just now on the mobile-friendly version of the site when I tapped the lightning bolt icon, which was also what I saw on the desktop browser yesterday.

Yesterday, no go during the day, worked late in the afternoon...
Today, no go till about noon, worked after 1700hrs local...

They fixed the setting on the server-side but I also decided to upgrade the software version. I still have some tweaks to do but all basic functions should be working now.

Random changes/problems persist for me. That 'download' message sometimes when clicking on a thread (and "still downloading" message when closing the site, threads showing up from very first post, not latest, to name two.

Now, on my Android phone in Dark Mode, when I long press the button to try for any reaction except "Like" I get a pop up menu of Android options.

Yep, two days in a row... and I thought AWS must have been on it again... ;)
(over here we now almost continuously face attacks on infrastructure, obviously from various "groups" with defined agendas... )

Interestingly was NT-owners not affected; I'd always assumed that both forum sites are hosted by the same provider, if not even on the same machine... :unsure:

Anyhow, you're after it, making things work again... :thumbsup:
 
i cant get on the forum with safari or firefox on my iphone. a box pops up do you want to download "forums" and thats as far as i get. my windows laptop is fine.
 
@Mellow it seems that the "quick search" bar is greyed out for me now, it used to search the titles of the forum category that I was browsing (there are other ways of doing this but was quite useful). I have tried 3 different browsers on 2 different devices to make sure its not cache/cookie/browser/device issue.
