I have a Schuberth C2 hemet whose face shield is delaminated on the inside. There is no longer a distributor in the USA for them. I have contacted them in Germany but they do not respond. I have talked to the former distributor an was told they rarely responded to them and that is why they dumped Schuberth. A WORD TO THE WISE--DO NOT BUY A SCHUBERTH HELMET.

I just got 2 face shields in there are some vendors getting them in now. I got mine from out on the west coast Washington St. I think I will see if I can find the invoice for you. You can also get them in England my brother in law got mew one from there.:03biker:

It is the only helmet I can wear as no other i have tried fits. I have a C1 for 4 1/2 years now without a complaint. Best helmet I have ever owned. I will absolutely by another even if the shield delaminates. BTW what exactly is delaminating? I did not know the shield had layers. Are you using any chemicals to clean it. I had a pair of Oakleys lose their coatings because i used the wrong chemical to clean them. 1 perscription lens of the two for the great at cost price of $150 and I only use mild soap and water now

I buy a lot from a German company called Louis
www.louis.de

Their website is in German, but they do foreign shipments.
I am not sure if they ship to USA, but you can send them an email, they underSTand and respond in English.

After the "catastrophic" failure of my Schuberth Concept at WeSTOC I'd have to second this recommendation. Admittedly it's a five year old helmet, but no way should the chin bar separate from the helmet at the pivot point.

I think I'll start a separate thread about this rather than hijack this one...

The Concept and the C2 are two different helmets.

I know; however vendors sometimes use similar materials and processes across multiple products. That's the only reason I brought it up. Consider it an additional data point or feel free to ignore it.

Completely different helmets.

Did you post your thread?

Oddly enough I bought my Schuberth C1 while in Germany on a Euro trip 3 years ago not because I wanted to although it's the most comfortable and has the best function I've ever had.

The reason I bought mine was that my HJC came apart on my way back from a Saturday ride outside Frankfurt and I needed to buy a new replacement to start a 2 week trip with 6 others on the Sunday.

My HJC was flipped up and the chin bar and shield simply blew away. It was only a couple months old it's self and had never been dropped or damaged. I went to a www.Louis.de bike shop and came away with my C1 and have loved it ever since.

Like most everything... there's always a lemon in the batch... ;-)

As I posted earlier, I have a C1 and love it but today I got to thinking, "What if I needed a new visor? Would I likely encounter the same troubles as Bob's posted?"

So, my only reason for posting yet again to this thread is that I just did an Ebay search for Schuberth + visor and came up with a couple options for less than $50USD... :)

BTW - Bob, there are C2 visors listed also...
