I hate to say it but it's time. I love this bike but when riding becomes more of an obligation than a joy it's time to move on.

It's not perfect by any means. The cosmetics/paint show its age. It runs great and has less than 1000 miles on new tires. The auto windscreen does not work. I have been into it and the gear is stripped and that sliders need replaced. All the service has been done, brake fluid has been changed, along with the oil and coolant and the forks have been rebuilt with new seals and bushings. Fuel gauge just blinks. The sending unit in the tank shows the proper values but the low fuel unit in the second tank is the issue. It shows a #9 FI code (fresh air sensor) but runs just fine. She is a big girl but she handles like a dream.

I do not know what's wrong with me. My neurosurgeon has given me the all clear but I am still having weakness, concentration and balance issue. It's time to hang it up for my own safety and for the safety of others. I am not really doing bike work now because I do not trust myself. It has been a life time of fun, friends, travel and adventure and to tell you the truth, I miss my old riding buddies more than I miss the bikes.

I am located in Sherman Texas which is about 60 miles due North of Dallas, TX.

Sorry to hear you are having health issues. Good luck with the sale.

I do not think this as much of a health issue as a realistic assessment issue. My long distance, solo, tripping days are over. I could still do it but my riding buddies are gone. I hate for the bike to just sit and collect dust in the garage and I have some old friends that did just that. So, it's time. I know its is a practical and rational decision but its still kind of hard.

I understand. Went through the same realization when I started getting rid of my Kz1000 and Vmax the last few years. I still enjoy my St1300 as long as I'm moving, just dread having to stop at red lights and stop signs. The left leg takes awhile to get off the foot peg to steady the heavy beast. Good Luck to you.
