ze GF had forgotten to cancel the weekday setback... brrrrr...

4°/10°C, full overcast, slight rain, damp, ghastly...

Slept in a little <yaaaawnnnn...> double Nespresso to raise oil pressure... :coffee:
Don't need to go out, its a holiday... something immaculate IIRC...
So nothing planned, except getting another hot cuppa... :coffee:

Thx Martin!

8˚c/46f, overcast, calm.

Had a full day of keeping Peter safe and entertained yesterday, so today is rest day.

I’ve walked to the library, and to a grocery store, took about an hour.
Now to make some soup for Mrs Stus triumphant arrival from work in a few hours.

What Martin said.

Thanks Martin and good morning all.

Yesterday's snow blowing session is now history, as in you can't tell it happened. We got another 10cm overnight, and it's still snowing and blowing. Commute to work took 3x as long as normal and I almost didn't make it up one hill. Maybe giving Thing1 the AWD car last year wasn't my best idea...

Currently still dark, snowing and blowing whiteouts and -10/-20 windchill. Headed downwards to -18/-25.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Obo.

Which reminds me of three signs I saw in a New Jersey coffee house several years ago:

That was a pleasant stop, on a very enjoyable trip. Thanks for triggering the memory of it.

It's 33°F and cloudy in Rockville. The skies will be cloudy and the high will be ... wait for it ... 33°F. We'll be in gradual decline all day (as I have been, overall, for the past 35 years or so) and will finish up about ten degrees colder than we began. Ugh. Have I mentioned how much I HATE winter?

I'll continue chipping away at my craft project prototypes today. A friend is due to come over late the afternoon to beta test them with me.

Before that, I've got my annual physical to undergo. I don't expect anything out of the ordinary, and all lights, brakes, turn signals, brake lights, emissions, etc. are in good working order with no warning lights lit so it should be just a pro forma inspection.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee Martin,

The Packers beat the Bears yesterday and all is as it should be. A balmy 8 degrees in the frozen tundra this morning. Was talking to a friend yesterday who lives a few hours north and he said it was -4 at his house at kickoff. My reply was it was warm here with temps in the low 20s. We have a chilly week coming, lots of single digits and some with that nasty - in front of them.

Off to PT. Everyone have a great day and remember be careful out there.

Thanks Martin, for the coffee. Did your body think you were in hibernation last night?
Keith shares my disdain for winter, but at least I don't have to deal with snow here.
My brother-in- law was thrown a surprise party yesterday for his 70th birthday. Gosh he has a lot of friends -- could have have been 80 folks there, I dunno. But his wife has good taste in caterers, and my millennial nieces and nephew are cool, and they married cool spouses.
Just read of @gunsmoker and his rear end mishap. Short hospital stay for him, but a longer trip to the boneyard for his 1300.
Alabama has a history of beating Georgia, more often than not, but lost in a dismal effort Saturday. But being ranked #9, with now a 3-loss season, somehow is still in the running for the National Championship.
Doesn't make sense to me, even though I'm a Crimson Tide fan.
And why is it Monday already?
Dang.
Well it is what it is, and never mind the other thing I was gonna tell y'all about ...but forgot.
Who has the coffee?
Oh. It's in the coffee pot on the counter, like always.
And why is it Monday already?

Good Morning Y'all, Monday you say, really doesn't matter to me anymore. Other than don't go for a ride between 5am and 9:30 am That would be dangerous, Cagers are half a sleep on their phones or putting on lipstick. Cold and damp outside 48 F high of 53 F this afternoon, wind from SSE at 12 gusting to 22 mph. Last night worked on repairing the plastic cover over the tip over bar on Lady's right side. Getting not to bad at Plastic welding, inherited a Welder soldering gun from my dad, which came with a flat bit. Had saved some plastic sheets from a dog carrier that I had parted out. Now to get the right color paint.
Got out for a ride yesterday as well, quick trip to Walmart for coffee and dog food, Lady stayed awake the whole trip! Breakfast was the usual 2 eggs on toast and a bowl of Rice Krispies and 2 cups of Coffee, thanks Martin. Everyone have a good day, G

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It was 22 and sunny to start the day, and it going all the way up to 23!

I got a good night sleep last night, and was sitting with the cat, when the alarm went off to remind me of my haircut appointment.
That done, I had breakfast before driving to see Brenda.

She's doing much better. Had a visit from the pulmonary team, and will have a CAT scan sometime today. They've been lowering her O2 concentration, and that's a good thing.
They were talking about maybe sending her home, tomorrow.

On my way home, I'll stop at the grocery store for bread and milk. We keep over buying, even though it's only us two at home.

Enjoy your day,
Steve

Morning all! Wet, rainy, damp and wet. Did I mention rainy? 9C currently with a wind warning. The high will get up to 14C.

Steve, I'm glad to hear Brenda is doing much better, that's great news. No doubt a scary experience for both of you.

Working from home today...and for the foreseeable future. It would have been a damp commute but nothing like Obo's, yeesh. I don't miss those days. The hill near our place in Calgary always reminded me of that film, I think it was a Disney or Nat. Geo, of the ducks trying to land or take off on ice. Toddlers with bumpers cars. Winter driving is like a surprise encounter with a bear; speed isn't going to help you and no sudden movements.

Have to take our oldest (17 y.o.) dog into the vet today. She's had diarrhea since late afternoon yesterday and there's been blood in the stool. She's previously had rectal cancer that was excised so we're a bit concerned. She was up every 1.5-2 hours last night constantly either making a mess in the house or if I woke up soon enough, out in the run. She's contentedly sleeping at my feet right now while I'm injecting copious amounts of caffeine and using toothpicks to keep my eyes open. I don't have any meetings on the docket so I may just pull the pin and take the day. A nap sounds really good right about now....

Hope everyone has a great day!
