Well it seems to come in threes - the AMA great Mert Lawwill has passed away. The man was an absolute legend in racing not only motorcycles but in designing bicycle frames Thank you Mert for all of your contributions to the motorcycle world - you will be missed!

So sad - he was such a kind man. He used to come to the Quail Lodge Motorcycle gathering every year. He was always open to talk to everyone.

As like many of you, I was introduced to him from the movie, "On Any Sunday".

Such a shame.

If I remember right, he had a motorcycle shop off the 91 Freeway in Riverside county. I think I stopped there back in the '80s.

I remember watcing Mert in the 70s as a member of the American Transatlantic team, a great rider. RIP Mert.
