Having no idea what I'm looking at, what are the functional differences? 
I'd say the only significant difference is that the GN4 contains Moly and the Valvoline does not. Both meet the JASO MA2 spec but some people don't want Moly on the wet clutch plates. Some feel it might cause slipping. Below is what the letters designate. These are additives that are intentionally put in the oil for various reasons. i.e. Reduce friction, buffer acids, antioxidants, etc.

The amount of moly in parts per million is what is important. Without knowing what threshold ppm that is harmful to wet clutches just saying 47.5 ppm moly is present is useless info. GN4 has been Honda's go-to oil for decades and it is compatible with wet clutches in Honda motorcycles. Is this another useless oil thread?
Since I had the reports I'd thought I'd share. Useless to some I'm sure. Maybe interesting to others.
