In the urban world a carpet beater was the preferred sidearm...Mine would use a slat off the chicken house if it was handy ...![]()

In my case it was a switch taken from the grape arbor outside. That meant business.Mine would use a slat off the chicken house if it was handy ...![]()
my dad never disciplined us he just looked at us like we were stupid cause he knew what mom was going to do
.. my personal 'test food to overcome' was that instant pea soup
Ouch!… then threw up on the plate and table.
That brought back memories, but not liver. When we were kids my Mom had to boil the milk (delivered straight from the cow) and a skin would form on it, which made me gag, and I'd pick it off and throw it in the sink. One day my Mom told me to drink it, skin and all and she held my mouth closed until I swallowed it. I gagged and heaved it through my nostrils, dragon like, they were all rolling on the floor laughing and I thought I was going to die. I was never forced to drink milk after that.Mine was liver, just like in the picture. In my case I gagged, tried again and gagged again… hard… then threw up on the plate and table. Never was served liver again!
