ze GF at work, got the house to myself... peace, quiet... and Nespresso...

FedEx driver was already here, threw the CMS parcel into the humongous parcel box, rang the video intercom, and sprinted back to his Van through the downpour...



So, that white plastic tube in the foreground, the -MR7- item, was the cause for this backorder/shipment delay...
Its supposed to protect the head's bucket-bore and centering the valve spring retainer while depressing it during removal/inserting the cotters...
Possible a strip cut out of a yogurt cup might serve the purpose, but I'm curious, and thorough...
Yeah, replacing the valve stem seals on the '00 ST is on the project list... another tool-time...

More currently I'll have to top off the water/pressure in the floor-heating system in da GF's house
(modern, wall mounted, European condenser type, natural gas boiler), night's getting cold, the heating season will start, soon...
Already replaced a breather pot where it feeds the DHW tank HEX tube (during times the solar collector circuit doesn't supply sufficient energy), after noticing the gargling noise of the boiler pump burping some trapped air one morning...

I also already fixed an annoying "noise issue" within the condensate drains of her multi-split A/C...
You could actually hear the high-wall unit's drains dripping inside the wall while in cooling mode...
During the stillness of the night like a Chinese water torture...
(not so much a problem for ze GF, she could snore through a bomb-raid like any female, but my prehistoric, male instincts react to just any noise and signs 'General Quarters' in case a sabertooth tries to sneak up... remnants when we weren't on top of the food chain...)

So I McGyvered this by threading some left over perimeter-wire down the drain hoses till they're reached on/into the wall-siphon...
Instead of free-falling the last few centimeters, the drops now run down that green wire... in total silence...

@Obo it's hard to believe that a quarter century has slipped past since that awful day when the world changed for the worse.

It's 70°F and raining gently in Rockville. It'll be humid with a high around 81, and the rain is "supposed to" end within an hour or two, or in a very specific 18 minutes despite the fact that the probability window has now been extended to 1000.

If the Windows weather app is to be believed (its wishy-washy conflicting information leads me to view it with some degree of skepticism) it has apparently already ended 16 miles to the west of the House of Fun, where I'm scheduled to be at 0930 for a round of goof. I'll be checking the radar before I depart to confirm that all is still good, before I actually set off.

After I get home I'll continue to prep for tomorrow. Not only is Mrs. Fun due to return, but I'm also hosting the ukulele group picnic. If the weather allows we'll use the lower terrace in the back yard, otherwise we'll be in the house. Won't know which, though, until about the time the event starts.

A day of remembrance for shure, I lack the proper words, the face of evil is just a start.
My american cousins best friend had just started in his new job in one of the towers, very proud…..it’s so sad.

Clean house, check over the fishing gear, tidy up the garage, then shrimps and wino.

A bit overwhelmed today….some uku music would be nice.

It's sunny in MA this morning and the temperature is 58, going to 77 in the town we just passed through. It'll be pretty much the same in Loudon.

We were up at 5:00am and out the door a little after 6:00. We'll be at the track around 8:00 for today's Penguin Road Race school, which should run until 6:00pm.
It'll be interesting to see if the Hayabusa that attended the event in Thompson shows up, today. This track has the room for him to get on it more.

I'm sure that we all remember what we were doing 25 years ago :-(

G'mornin' from the office! As Keith reported, it was pretty rainy here earlier but I decided to wait it out in order to ride in. Took some time to have some cereal and a mug, and it was worth it. Got here in nearly record time, and the only wetness I felt was the condensate and road spray that rolled off the windscreen onto me. Thanks, Martin! And it sounds like you're making good use of your time. I think Ze GF should just hire you as a full-time caretaker and live-in handyman.

Got several projects on my plate where parts have come in: the Craftsman clock, the friend's JD rider mower. Along with regular maintenance which I'm automatically tasked with (wife's car oil change, lawn mowing). So it'll be a busy weekend to make up for last week's hoity-toity celebrations.

And to cap it off, today is my son's birthday. So, I'll probably send some $$ his way to go celebrate since he's not nearby anymore.

Can't think of much else, so take care y'all!

Thought I'd let you know we hit the road about a week ago from dear old blighty. Presently in Krakow, Poland.
It's a nice old city, but the weather is nuts, it was 95f yesterday, 65 today and 55 tomorrow before it recovers up to 70 ish on Saturday. That's when we'll set off south to Slovakia and the High Tatras.
Rode across France, Belgium and Germany, stayed in Leipzig for a couple of nights, which proved very enjoyable. Except for the Germans of course.
We're around 1500 miles away from sunny Wooler.

Good Morning, this day is one of those dates that has mixed emotions for me. First Grandson was born on this day 22 years ago, and of course we all remember what happened this day 25 years ago. Yesterday was Wife's birthday, so me rode down to Birch Bay to celebrate it with her. I must say the Border guards are very friendly, and no line up to speak of. While shopping for a present for wife ( what to get,who has to much stuff) bought myself a new Winter riding Jacket $112 waterproof and wind proof. Did find something my wife needed, yeah Pink fuzzy slippers for the trailer down south, every once in awhile I get the right gift.
Now back to the weather, 55 F high 65 F Cloudy all day winds up to 10 mph, humidity 86%. Today's agenda, grocery shopping, That's it. So Y'all have a good day G

Morning all! Overcast and grey here. Currently 13C with a predicted high of 18C. Only a 20% chance of rain but it sure feels more imminent than that.

Working from home as I am still not permitted to shower to protect the incision from Wednesday's excision procedure. I feel it's only fair to the folks in the office that they not be subjected to the results of my haphazard sponge b......sorry, I wholeheartedly apologize for any mental imagery caused by TMI.

Morning Martin & All from mostly cloudy, in Southern Utah!

Currently it si 83F, heading for 86F, with some thunderstorms rolling through, but we are not expecting much from it. The winds have been at it since around 9AM. Blowing in from the SSW @ 6 to 11MPH. And later from the WSW @ 15 to 24mph.

I got a surprised text yesterday. You all remember the 96 ST1100 I had and sold to a neighbor. Well, he's got it back on the road and it looks and runs great! I even took it for a short spin!







Baxter had to do the work on it, that I suspected, and it still needs tires and the saddle recovered, but for the way it's looking, it will get attention, for sure!

As I was printing things out for WeSTOC 30, one of the ink cartridges went dry, so I replaced it with some NOS ink I bought off eBay, I guess it was too old. It wouldn't work, so I had to make an emergency run to Wally's World and pick some up. It took a few pages, but the ink got back to normal.

I'll get things finished up today.

Eggs, bacon, toast, OJ and Lemon Tea. Pepsis still sitting in the ice chest. Hopefully the fridge repair guy will be by today.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee Martin. 76 and overcast with rain now and then, the usual rinse and repeat weather report.

The rest of the parts for the car AC repair arrive today. Since I have to gut half the interior, I bought a backup camera to hook up to the new
radio I installed awhile ago.

I will always remember, the events 25 years ago hit close to home. Rest in eternal peace coworkers and all others who were taken on that day.
