Certainly not. Get yourself the Honda Service Manual for your bike. It gives you the step by step procedure.

Lots of info on this topic, read the other TB threads for guidance. While youre in there consider new pulleys and water pump. Not cheap, but one session and youre done with everything in the front of the engine for another 90k miles.

I actually had my dealer do it, and it wasn't too expensive. The trick is to remove most of the tupperware before taking it in. That saves a few dollars on the hourly rate.

I just bought this shop manual. Is there a better one?
that manual only covers up to the 1993 model, you didn't say which year you own. If you have a non-ABS version then the main difference between earlier years and later years is the alternator, but there are probably a few minor things as well. The manual you have will be mostly useful in that case. If you have the ABS II model from '95 or '96 and later, then there are a lot of differences, and you'd be better off getting a later manual that covers your year bike.

Even though that manual only goes to '93 it'll give you the right info for your belt change.

The part that you want to find is how to 'trim' the cover so you can get it back into place.
I did 2 a couple of months apart and found getting in from the front was a piece of cake in both instances.
Wheels, forks, radiator and then into the covers.

OK thanks guys. My bike is 92. I though that stuff just showed up on the left there.
It does now, but when I replied I'm pretty sure I looked more than once and it wasn't there then. Did you add it recently, or am I going blind?

I added it. I thought I had put it there when I originally created my account. Apparently not.

I'm getting old and finding that I forget things from time to time. The cool thing is, eventually I'll get to the point that I'll be sure I am right.
