Finally turned over 250K on my FZ1

Had hoped to do it last weekend on the MSTA Texas Hill Country trip but didn't quite make it.

Yep

Bought it new on May 12th 2001.
Was the 2nd one my dealer had in stock and someone had backed out on it.
They convinced me to take it for a ride and I've never looked back.
Sold my 1996 Honda Nighthawk with 65k on it - all mine too

Would ride more if I could find someone to finance my bike habit but this nasty 4 letter word - WORK - just keeps getting in the way.

My dream is to retire to Arkansas and ride

Outstanding! I've had my ST for only about 3 months, but she has bit me hard - 6500 miles hard. So I can relate to the four letter word being a hindrance. Retirement will be nice - need to think about retiring somewhere I can ride 12 months a year and still ski in winter time!

New in '01. Original Owner. Very Good! 250K Club! Congrats.
Don't know much about the FZ1, but It looks like itt'l do the miles.
Report on how its running after 250K, & what it's needed to make it that far.

Pretty much just good maintenance and keeping it up right

It does use a bit of oil now but only about 3 ounces every 400-500 miles depending on riding pace.

We've got several owners that have both 100k and 200k but for most it's a 2nd or 3rd owner.

Now I'm curious, how do you manage to lay down so many miles? Is this due to a long commute? Lots of vacation time? Does it run on a stand in the garage like Ferris Bueller?
