Ok. Just finished cleaning forks. reinstalling new seals and new oil on my 2000 st abs. I have a manual that provides basic instruction and saw a few videos on Youtube on basic fork installation. U researched the Suspension Forum but can not find any discussion in great details and and tips on this topic. Is there any lengthy discussion that I've had might missed? Any tips are welcome.

What Dean said, except on the forks, tighten the caps prior to the Upper Pinch Bolts (the ones right by the caps).

DeanR has that sequence down correctly;) Pay particular attention to that second portion of sequence, with the first two being MOST important for correct trackability. First two of second portion, climb aboard bike, hold front brake(hopefully calipers installed) and rock bike back and forth fairly aggressively compressing suspension somewhat. This centers relationship of forks, then tighten and torque in sequence DeanR has shown. This method of centering of forks has been used for several decades in the moto-x world for decades, as I was one, and at one point a few decades ago semi-professional in that arena.

Thanks DeanR, STraymond, Brant. This clarify the sequence much better. I also have a piece of aluminum to put under tire to make easier on tire movement. Will get it done tomorrow.

Dean, was this a typo? At that point the axle bolt, and all pinch bolts have been torqued down. After the L side pinch bolts, you're done, right?

Done. Thanks to all members who offered comments. Now to the rear suspension (when CO approves funds).
