Hi folks changed my bars today, 30 min job normally that is until you drop one of the bar clamps into the middle of the engine!!!!!.

Couldn't believe I did it, I couldn't get my hand in between the cylinders so tried taking off the plastics but no joy, then it looked like I would have to remove the carbs when I had a moment and noticed the tank only has 4 bolts so off It came and presto I could get my hand in to retrieve the clamp.

So an afternoon wasted and a lesson learned

I'm sure I will chuckle about it in a few days:mad:;)

I'm going to guess that the fuel tank connectors were getting pretty dirty, so by removing them and reattaching them after pulling the tank, you cleaned the connections and avoided a future electrical problem that was just waiting to happen.

either that or you just wasted an afternoon. ;)
