I have a 1998 ST1100. I think it takes too much down travel for the brake light switch to activate when pushing the pedal for the rear brake.... Is there any way to adjust it so it triggers the light sooner? I saw the schematic and it looks like the switch is pull by a spring attached to the pedal... Should I shorten this spring? How easy is to get to it? Is this the right thing to do, to shorten the spring?

The switch itself is threaded with a adjustment collar on it. Take the right side cover off and follow the spring up to the switch. Simply adjust the switch to where you want it then.

Thank you so much! It took 5 minutes! First, removed the right side cover above the pedal,
then.... there it was... found the switch adjusting teflon wheel!
Second, turned the wheel to desired position and that was it!
Thank you for taking your time to help others!
