Hello --

I just picked up this bike and have seen many different tire wear patterns indicating different service problems.

I have never seen this on this Metzler tire (any tire in fact) particularly on the rear. Photo 2 shows the overall wear ,while photo 1 shows the the most severe wear where the steel belts are showing and is also more severely scalloped. Even with with slopping swing arm bearings I haven't seen this issue before.

Btw the front is also showing scalloping but is the same amount of scalloping on both clutch and throttle sides. - will assess the head stock bearings soon

Any experienced wrenches seen this and fix in mind

thanks

H2

Normal flat spot center suggests leaned over problem. Donuts or skids always to same side. Yeah, that’s a guess from an unqualified mechanic.
(sorry, couldn’t help myself)

Check the wheel bearings and swing arm for misalignment. I did run some Metzelers on my ST and destroyed them in about 4000 miles, they were squared in the center and flattened on the side. But nothing like yours. Ps, I did not ride them that hard. They did not feel good to me.
Are those Z-6s?
