hello all ------- my question would be is my 2003 st1300 non elecric windshield ajustable ? i had another 03 in 03 and i put the upgraded electric windshield option on it and i remember i always had it in the lowest down setting and thats how i liked it and i dont think i want to spend the money now to get that option because i will just keep it down all the time.i just bought this bike after owning a 2005 st1300 a few years ago.so this is my 3rd. st.this bike did not come with a owners book .im sure it might be there.so im hoping someone could help me with that.please with sugar on top ...thanks

It is adjustable but I think there are only two positions. I could be wrong I ride an 1100 ;)

Just an FYI the 03 non ABS is the only 1300 without the power windscreen. It became standard on both ABS and non ABS in 04. I know you said you are looking at an 03 but just in case you didn't know.

yes its a non ABS also and i just bought this bike

I also own a 2003 non ABS…yes the windscreen is adjustable. The screen can be placed in 2 positions, high and low. To adjust – remove the 2 phillips head screws from each (2) windscreen arm cover. Next use a box end wrench ( 10mm I believe) to loosen 2 nuts on the inside of each arm. You should be able to slide the screen up or down at that point. Hope it helps!

I have the same bike. Yes, it is adjustable, but like Sennister says, only all the way up or all the way down. Not as bad as it sounds. It only takes about 10 minutes to do. I ride with mine down generally. The only time I raise it is when I have my wife on the back seat. You bought a good bike.
would that ajustment be in the bolts holding the windshield in place i see where i think it would move up and down maybe a little but not all the way up or all the way down .is there ajustment under the front fairing where the eletric windshield motor would be ? it seems to me like its up a inch or two from the bottom of where its lowest point wright now and maybe a different angle ?not sure i would like to see it go down about a inch or two from where it is now from factory setting

As far as I know there is no adjustment below the fairing. You just pull it off the metal supports that come through the fairing and mount it to the upper or lower position.

I have never seen an 03 without the fairing to see what is under there. I know that it has the rubber grooves in the fairing like the ABS so it looks like it can adjust but as far as I know it can't.

Also the screens on the bikes with the adjustable system can be moved up and down on these same brackets. This adds to the range of adjustment.

There are no other adjustments....unfortunately. I wish I could get it a bit lower as well!

I think the last time I priced it out it was in the $500-600 range for the parts to convert to electric option

Looking at Lanman's bike an 05 with electrics and mine an 03 with out. The 05 wind screen tucks closer to the fairing and lower,in the down position. Then in the up position it is higher and the top is pushed slightly more forward, about an inch.;):03biker:

damm it looks like im going to have to spend 600 to get it there ! i road race the bike and it performs way better at the lower setting ! it really makes it feel tighter at high speeds and corners IMO

Another option that may be cheaper is to have the windscreen cut down. I know there are some people that have done that and I think someone here just started offering a service to do it for you. If you don't want to do it.
