100,000 miles on June 8, 2019 for 2007 ST1300

Back on June 8th, I hit the 100,000 mile mark on my 2007 ST1300 while on a group ride in Milwaukee. I bought the bike new in December 2007 for $12,500. A few facts:

• Over 100,085 miles I burned 2,200.51 gallons of gas for an average of 45.5 MPG.
• 16 oil changes with filters - Amsoil 10W-40 Metric
• Changed differential oil every 3rd oil change
• 5 front and 7 rear tires
• 3 sets of brake pads
• 3 air filters
• Replaced brake/clutch fluid twice
• I’m on my 3rd battery
• Had the valves checked at 46,000 – all good
• Had Race Tech do my forks and shock at 57,000
• Replaced muffler bands & bolts and wheel bearings at 70,000
• Changed the plugs at 91,000
• Replaced clutch push rod, bush and boot at 94,000

I’m currently at 105,211 and the bike runs fine. I came to the forum today to look up suggestions for headlight bulb replacement as I had one fizzle out. Based on spiderman302’s advice in the current LED Headlights thread, I ordered a set of the TECHMAX Mini H4 LED’s. There was a lot of good info in that thread, so I hope to install them without too much trouble.

I've kept a spreadsheet since new tracking costs, mileage, etc. Here are a few more figures for almost 12 years and 105,200 miles.

• $7,480 in gas - Averages $623 per year
• $8,077 in oil, tires, parts, and service - Averages $673 per year (Mostly do my own service except for fork/shock rebuild and valve check)
• $15,557 total operating cost, averaging $1,296 per year.
• The average gas price for premium has been $3.24 per gallon.
• Lowest gas price per gallon was $1.99 at Costco in Fort Myers on 02/25/16
• Highest gas price per gallon was $4.96 in Canmore, Alberta on 07/28/11
