If you ordered a used one, you’ll probably end up with a damaged one someone took off to repair their bike.
Order a new one from RonAyers.com.
If you did get a used one, you can post a couple pictures and we can point out if it’s damaged or not.
Sounds like someone had their SMC fail, which causes damage to that bracket.

Actually, the locator piece for pads was missing, part#6 below. The bracket I'm getting does have that locator piece, hence chances are bracket's good. Worst case scenario I sent it back.

They are crimped and glued in place at the factory.
Is yours a new or used one coming?
