2000 ST1100 custom build

Hi all. I’ve just started a full ST1100 custom build. I’m not a mechanic, but it’ll be a laugh. I’m retired so I have the time, and it’s my first ever Vlog. Im going to strip the thing down, build it up as new, and do a unique custom build from my little garage. I’m sure I’ll be hitting this forum for advice when the going gets tough but in the meantime, feel free to check it out

Very good. I just had a superficial look on YT, but I’ll watch them in depth- the ‘twisty thing’ near the petrol filler is the idle speed adjustment, so you can fine tune the idle. Congratulations on retirement! I hope to make it there soon.

Last year I replaced the engine of a ST1300, and I need to get back to it! One of these days!

Nice garage…. Wish I had that space…. And the floor is smooth too. That engine looks huge. I might need to rethink my hoisting setup!!!

I actually used my tractor to remove the frame from the engine. And put the other frame on the engine.

The two bikes:

Engine donor was a 2006 Ex Cop bike with 74K - too many issues to fix as a whole, including the title.
Frame donor was a 2005 with 59K and a bad engine due to the owner, running it out of oil.

Removing the 06 frame from the engine!



Putting the 05 frame on the 06 engine.



I have a full, one car garage, for my bikes.
