Parting a wrecked '91
Here's the deal:
I'm rebuilding the '91 in my sig, and in the process of dong so, I'm adding gauges from a Yamaha snowmobile. The speedometer and fuel gauge are plug & play. The tach I'm not so sure of. The Yamaha tach is powered by pulses from the charging system. It is a "6 pulse" model. If I can direct wire it to +12V as it is on the Yamaha, this would be great.
My question is how many pulses (poles?) are on the ST's 28A alternator? Apparently this can be determined by the number of windings on the alternator. Not wanting to take mine apart, I've been looking for pics and didn't see any for sale on eBay this morning. Can anyone help out with either the answer or a pic of the alternator?
Thanks.
