50 year comparison

Not the normal bike comparison, but I posted this on Senior Motorcyclsts 50+ last week on FB and since it is my ST I thought it might work here. I apologize if it would balong in a different area. 1726089226911.png
The ST has 97000+ miles and I am deciding where I want to be when it turns 100k.

Very good! So you have at least a 50 year riding history- I started in 1989, so I’m only at ~35 years- I hope to be riding into my 80’s as long as it’s safe to do so.
LOL.. I started in 1999... darn, I didn't take a picture.... I'll be 85... not planning on stopping 'til I can't remember what a motorcycle is.... :giggle-2x:

Great picture Terry!

Just turned 70. Started with a Rup trail bike at age 12. Had a bike every day since. Have had a long list of bikes to my current 02 ST1100 for the last 10 years.

Congrats Trussellcma and to all the other long time riders. We are blessed, aren't we?

74 years old. I started street riding in May, 1965 on a new 1965 Harley M-50 (made by Aermacchi in Italy. I wanted a Honda but my dad being a WW2 vet hated the Japanese and wouldn't let me buy one)...

this was 1968 (Honda 305 scrambler with tt pipes ) oldest pic I can find. I was 18 by then and bought what I wanted...a Honda lol

and 2024 ... still riding daily year round ..today will be 231st day riding this year....(missed 15 days in January due to Ohio winter weather and 9 days when I flew to Alaska with my wife in July for our 50th wedding anniversary) other than that have only missed 3 days of riding this year.

I started riding in 1972... how many years is that?
No matter.
No pictures, but I definitely remember.
Uncle puts me on his Honda 175, shows me how to start it.l and how to take off.
Nary a word about how to turn it around, or how to stop the dang thing.
Think it was intentional? I forgot to ask him.

This was my 3rd Honda, a CB400NC, so would have been taken in 1983.Warkworth .jpg

Somehow all the dark seems to have washed out of my hair now...about 40 years later...IMG_2993.JPG
All good…we’re all ‘distinguished’. That means anyone can distinguish us from someone of younger age.

That was my first bike, a '72 CL450, bought on the day of my 18th birthday, same paint as this one:
Mine was blue, put a set of Jardine 2 int 1 after doing the kill switch backfire "trick" knocked baffle loose. I am not counting the trail 90 as the first, had that until I got license.
