Any feedback would be appreciated. Have a 2006 ST 1300 wondering, if I should get some aftermarket slip. Ons exhaust would appreciate any help. I don't like backfiring so I don't know. Just putting the slip on will cause that or not. Thank you

I ran Delkevics for a while and liked the throatier sound, but thought they were the most i would go, as far as loudness, but that is just me. To each their own. Lots of decel popping/backfiring, until i removed the PAIR system... still a bit of popping, but a noticeable improvement.

I would suggest that you focus your question a little more towards what you are trying to achieve with a different exhaust system.
i.e. Is your goal to change the sound of your motorcycle, or to improve its fuel efficiency, or to increase its power output, or to reduce the heat output from the catalytic converters? Knowing what side effects that each type of exhaust creates would also be helpful information if I was considering an aftermarket exhaust system. e.g. deceleration popping, sound level, etc..

The reason that I write that is because from what I have read on here most people who change the exhaust on ST1300's seem to primarily do so because they want a different sound. Most of what I have read from people who have changed the exhaust for the purpose of increasing fuel efficiency or power output often found that there was not much of a change in either. This motorcycles engine output just does not seem to respond significantly to these minor types of changes. Some others found that certain brands were to loud for their liking and ended up putting the stock exhaust back on.

I appreciate the reply.Yeah, I was more looking for better sound. But after reading a bit on my own and listening to you all that particular bike responds well to the back pressure created from the o.E m exhaust , so I think i'm just gonna stay with what I got

I know, different bike, but I have OEM exhaust on the 94, Delkevics (13” tri-oval) on the 2000. Sometimes, I like it quiet and sometimes just a hair louder (and if you get the longer exhausts, there is available a different baffle that knocks off another dB or 2 if the system is too loud for your tastes). I did that for the CF Delkevic I have on the Silverwing, and it sounds very good.

Yeah, I'm probably gonna stay with the oe.M I guess cause i'm not much into that decel pop

One\nMore thing? If you know anything about it, I need a throttle lock on this bike.I was looking at the Atlas, throttle lock.Any comments on those

Another one of those things, where you either like it or you don't.
Not trying to be a wise guy... but I've seen passionate reviews from both sides.
I have no experience with one.
Just like the plastic (sometimes with velcro) wrist rests (Crampbuster is one brand) that fit tightly on the throttle... I have had 'em, and hate everything about them.
Yet, some here absolutely love it on their bike.

Bottom line for a lot of these things, everyone is different. If possible, go to an STOC event and try out the gadget you think you want on someone else's bike. It might save you a bunch of money AND you will meet some great folks and have a good time. One of those rare win win situations.

BTW, I had a cramp buster and liked it. It was cheap and it worked. It wasn't perfect (few throttle locks short of a real cruise control are) but it was good enough.

This almost reads like AI, if I close my eyes or even squint, I can't tell the difference, guess that's because it is AI, Andrew Intelligence. Very well articulated sir!

I don't understand why anyone wants their bike louder. A lot of Harley riders do it and I think it's either because they want attention or it's because other Harley riders do it and they want to be just like them. A perfect example of non-conformists conforming. Yes, non-Harley riders do it too, but not to the same degree.

I don't feel the need to ask the world "look at me". I haven't put playing cards in the spokes of my bicycle either... well, maybe I did when I was 7.

One of my daughters needed to be "different". "You're shopping in a national chain store, everyone that is trying to be themselves is shopping here too", she didn't see the irony.
