any one use this air seat pad on there st, friend let me try his & was amazed @ how comfotable it was, only issue i had was with the height with it under me, but was really comfortable, thinking about buying one but there pricey. 180$$$

Expensive, and adds about one and a half inches to your seat height, but after a long day in the saddle you will forget how much it cost, especially if you are *ahem* of advancing years and riding a hard seat bike.

A key point is not to over inflate the Air Hawk, and ensure it is tightly secured.
I don't use mine on the ST, the stock seat with a sheepskin cover is more than comfortable enough.

I have a Corbin seat in my garage. It is collecting dust on the shelf. If you want to try it. Just let me know.

My pop has one on his husky te510 that seat would be more comfortable if you added nails. The airhawk works pretty good!!!! Spendy but your comfort is worth non destracted riding. I have a russel on the st it's great

You do not have to have it blown up all the way, the lowest possible inflation is very comfortable.

Hey wanna try something really easy and cheap. I use a layer of bubble wrap under my alaskan buttpad. Comes in all bubble sizes and is easily cut to shape. Okay guys flame away!

I find it to be THE answer for LD comfort. +1 on inflation - it should be "almost flat" keeping your butt just barely from toughing the seat.

I got a couple from RL Aviation in SC for ~$130... Do a net search and it should come up.

I can't imagine anything better then the AIRHAWK. This thing elliminated all problems associated with the stock seat for me. I tried the bead rider product, sergeant seat, corbin seat... but nothing has worked as consistently well as the AIRHAWK.

And, as an extra bonus: it gives you something to do while underneath an overpass waiting for a storm to blow over :D

After riding for 3 hours on my 04 st the seat felt like im sitting on a rock that is getting harder, my but aches. due to my location i cant get my seat modified, so i guess i have to get the airhawk after rading this thread. The only glitch is it will increase the seat hight, cos im alredy seating too high at 2 meters tall and wind buffeting at high speeds is already an issue with me, bieng tall i put my seat adjustment to the highest position perhaps i need to lower it 1 notch after fitting the airhawk. The wind buffeting could be improved by the screen at a high position but im not comfortable with this due to stability, and also the bike seem to be strugling against the wind with the screen at this position.

The airhawk isn't going to add much height at all. You only inflate the airhawk just a bit... if you rock side to side you'll feel the seat not the air. The idea is to just barely get enough air in there to get you off the seat, no more. I really like my airhawk. Recommended!!

They now have an "original" Airhawk, and an "Airhawk 2". Anyone with experience with the new lower cost version? Or is the older neoprene version the one to get?

I have had the AirHawk in the past on my GW, they're OK but rater expensive.
Before dropping the bucks try the Ultimate seat that you can get at WalMart for less than $20.00. It's a PVC egg crate design in a non slip cover. I don't travel without it.

My wife swears by these seats! She adds just enough air to raise her about 1/2". We agree on the fastening since I rode off without her and without the AirHawk fastened and are now on our second one as a result.

The folks at Air hawk (ROHO) told me that the Air Hawk 2 was only good for about 5-6 hours in the saddle and then the burn may start.

I have an Airhawk and I personally could never get comfortable with it. It ended up getting a small hole in the bladder that looked like it was caused by heat breakdown. This may have been my fault for leaving the airhawk on the bike under a carport in the summer. However, airhawk replaced the bladder under warranty do good on them. I have since started using a bead rider and like it better. If you are interested in buying or trying my airhawk PM me and let me know.

I've had both the neoprene and the polyvinyl Airhawk and they are much the same to ride on. The neoprene one did suffer from what appeared to me to be perishing along the sides of the bladders and it ended up leaking.

The poly on is doing fine however, I bought it for my Shadow 750 but have transferred it to the ST. Due to the seat having been made for a shorter person in it's past I've got the Airhwk pumped up a little more than I would usually run it. I'm currently getting a ex ST1100P rear cowl painted to match the rest of the bike, then I'll be putting the Police single seat on. I'll still have the Airhawk but will let it down to the usual near flat state.

I have an airhawk that I've had for a couple years now. While it is better than the stock seat on my RT, it's not a whole lot better. I've also tried an Alaskan Sheepskin cover with no better results. When the Russell Sear buy opportunity came up, I jumped at it.

Probably the best seat I had was when I cut a length of gym matt/sleeping matt off and stuck it under the woolen cover I had on my old K100 BMW.
