I decided to buy a replacement jar of anti-seize, so I did a google search. I can buy the stuff in the following brands: Permatex, Keze, Btas, Zdbb, Permatex,, etc, and many of those brands offer several. I saw anti-seize labeled Copper, Moly, Graphite, Silver, and plain (no buzz words).

OK, a few parameters, I'll be using this as a general anti-seize - on random bolts, exhaust manifolds (for heat), on my snowblower (for cold) and anywhere in between (not on sandwiches - I prefer mustard or mayo). Is there any real difference? Lets be real and not start an oil thread labeled anti-seize.

No appreciable difference between brands. There are differences between the types, though. I use nickel for general purpose stuff, but I also usually have copper around as well. Copper anti seize does not get along with aluminum, which is why I usually just go to the nickel stuff. There is also a ceramic type that I've been meaning to try, seems to be best of all of them in terms of general use. It's kind of like asking what the difference is between all the different liquid lubes out there - engine oil and gear oil don't do the same thing even though they are very similar. Check the labels for appropriate temps and metal compatibility for your specific uses.

So in short - it depends on your specific application.

Nickel is my go to, but i have copper as well. As Joeywhat said, depends on your use case. Nickel does most things fine for non industrial use.
I've always stuck with a brand name. I'd hate to save a buck or two and get silica sand and vaseline along with some silver marker juice.
