Wanting to remove my stock bar end weights to install new ones that have a throttle lock. How do you get the old ones out and what keeps the new ones in?

I don't know what your new ones are like. But there are a couple of accurate videos on youtube for removing oem honda bar ends. My LH bar end and dampening bar keeps sliding out. And I have a new retaining clip too install in a day or two. The retaining clip has two small tangs that engage drilled holes, 180 degrees apart, in the end of the handlebar. Watch the video's,,, and if needed I can post a photo or two. Its pretty straight forward,,,, as long as a PO has not glued things together,,, cheers,, CAt'

Ugh. I'm going to have to pull the throttle tube off. I tried by just squeezing the tabs on the outside but the inner sleeve is not sliding out.

I don't know if you can remove the inner weight without destroying it. A bolt screwed into the inner weight and attached to a slide hammer would probably work to pull it out though.
