Well, after sitting for 3 weeks my bike started fine and then left me stranded at a gas station. Not so fun in 28 degree weather. After disassembling everything to get at the battery and jump start the poor thing I realized that an external pair of battery contacts would be a great idea. This would allow me to jump start the bike without having to shut the bike off just to relock the right-side luggage and the seat latches. Anyone ever come across this? Any ideas (besides waterproof covers for the external contacts?)
