I do not like using full face helmets, I was wondering if anyone is using the Bell Mag 8, it gets great reviews and seems to be exactly what I am looking for.

Any and all feedback please

I have one and find it to be comfortable. Like snuggles said most of the time it will hold the shield in what ever positon you leave it. I do find in time of high winds the shield will some times raise its self. I use mine mostly in hot weather because I find it cooler than my full face.

thanks guys, I was quite sure that was the type I wanted, read the reviews but hadn't talked to anyone who actually had one who drives an st.

i think I will try one as I really like the open face feeling and the extra peripheral vision from the open face helmets.

Thanks

My preference is for open-faced helmets, but at ONSToc 2009, we ran into a day of rain and the ST windshield did not protect my face. Vision was reduced with rain drops on my glasses, so I knew a new helmet was needed. Dave from Port Stanley ON riding a Varadero had a Bell Mag 8 helmet and let me try it on. I was immediately sold on it and bought one a month or two later.

The retractable face shield stays in the up position in good weather, but can be pulled down when it rains so your face & glasses remain dry. I love this helmet and the snug fit reduces noise levels significantly. You won't regret buying a Bell Mag 8!

I would love to use an open face helmet, but the only MC accident I have had ,so far, resulted in me sliding literally on my face for some distance. Had I been wearing an open face I probably wouldn't have much of a face left...

I bought one new last year, wore it for 10 minutes and then gave it away to a fellow club rider. The helmet was very well made and I liked everything about it except its fit. I have a "Shoei" head and the bell fit me all wrong. The person who has it now has an "Arai" head and loves the thing.

YMMV

I love my Mag8 - was tipped off by another rider and race car driver about it.
Cheap now too. As surprised reviewers noted - quieter than most FF. and very easy on and off. I've worn mine below freezing ( balaclava underneath ) and been very comfortable. Good room for earphones as well. Very sturdy shield.
I found treating the shield with a diving mask treatment kept any fogging at bay in cold weather. Very good pin pock and the way the visor works it's a decent sun shade as well.

I wear a convertible in Australia and end up with it up and open all the time except in heavy weather. At $70-80 it's a bargain and finish is very good but I've always found Bell's a good fit for my large round head - so results may vary.

I've been using one for the past 2 and a half years, and have been very happy with it. The ear pockets have plenty of room for my blue tooth helmet speakers, and the shield stays in whatever position
you want. When I have to ride into the setting or rising sun, I put a piece of painters tape on the bottom part of the shield and raise it up to serve as a sunscreen.
