I did a search here, but couldn't find any comprehensive info and am looking for help.

I'm trying to tie a radarscreamer to my Escort that I have mounted in the left fairing pocket. So far, the only concern I have is with the speaker. I was hoping to mount it in the vent opening on the left side of the fairing above the headlight adjuster and below the top of the dash (run the wire out the slot). Figured it would give good audio there and be kept somewhat out of the wx. But the speaker is just a bit too big.
I'm trying to avoid mounting it in the horizontal, as i hear these things don't like to be saturated.
I don't want to add a dash shelf to the bike.
If I mounted it in the left pocket with the radar detector, do you think I'd hear it?
Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Have you pulled the dash apart and looked down from the top?
I have not; but, if you can put it in there the noise would get to you through the dash's grill and it would be out of the weather too.

Run the connector through a hole melted in the pocket's wall, seal the hole with RTV with the correct amount of wire to connect it to the RD dangling into the pocket.

Run the radar detector audio into an Autocom. You would be sure to hear it without bothering anyone else at a stop light or in slow traffic.

I put my radar screamer behind the right side speaker grill. It's totally hidden and you can hear it quite well:

Your pic says "stock bracket." Does that mean there is a bracket already there behind the grille waiting to accept a speaker?
Thanks,

Answered my own questions. I had to fab a bracket to mount up behind the grille.
Install went pretty smoothly once I got all the tuperware off and re-did some old connections.
Still need to road test. Try that tomorrow when the sun is up.

Be aware, I have seen water pour through those openings in a true frog strangler. I-70 coming into Denver  water high enough to blow my feet off the pegs.

Sorry, no, What is meant is that it was "angle stock" that I got at the local Lowes. Sorry for the confusion.

Me too! Apparently that piezo horn is pretty water proof! I had it previously located on top of the dash shelf, fully exposed, on my 1100. Never a problem.

Worked great behind the dash speaker grille. Had no trouble hearing it up to 90 mph. Saved me once on a 350 mile round trip up to Taos. Wish the mute switch was just a little bigger, but I'm getting used to it. Think it best to reprogram the escort to disable auto mute. For those with this setup, how to you run the escort?
